  • Food As Medicine

For years, society has turned a blind eye to the philosophy that what you eat contributes to who you are. The statement may sound harsh, and although it’s not meant as a statement to upset you, it is one that requires an expansion of the mind.

Many of us think we are eating “healthy foods” because the label on the box tells you what is in the package is good for you. However, once you read the label, you find a different story. I’ve written a bit about this in the past. I won’t go off on that tangent today. Today I want to give you a little overview of how some foods can help you live a good life.

I spent a lot of time learning about Ayurvedic medicine, that being the medicine of food. I’ve learned much about the dosha’s and how what you eat, and when you eat has a big impact on how you digest food, if the food you eat doesn’t digest, and how that undigested food can cause dis-ease in the body.

I won’t spend this post discussing the practice of Ayurveda. I just wanted to give you an idea of what food can do for health. Both physical and mental. We will focus on how the following foods can make you “happy”. They can boost your mood and help you have a better day.

    Asparagus

Asparagus are a good source of tryptophan, which increases serotonin levels. We’ve learned how serotonin regulates brain functions such as mood, appetite, sleep, and memory. When your serotonin levels are low, you may experience anxiety, depression or moodiness..

    Fruits And Vegetables

We all remember our parents telling us to eat our fruits and veggies so we can grow up big and strong. They weren’t wrong.  They are both loaded with B vitamins. These B vitamins are responsible for mood and increased energy levels. You may not be aware of the meany varieties of B vitamins found in produce. Some examples are:

    • B2 is found in spinach and mushrooms
    • B3 is in avocados
    • B6 is in bananas
    • B9 is in broccoli

Antioxidants found in our arsenal of fruits and veggies keep our cells healthy and able to ward off disease..

    Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omegas are tricky. You must be diligent and find clean sources of these acids. Some sources of Omega 3’s are:

    • Salmon,
    • sardines,
    • tuna and
    • shrimp

Our bodies don’t produce these omega’s so we must get them through the food we eat. I always question these statements and reserve the right to change my mine. As I research further, I could learn more and change my mind. The thought that comes to me is if our body doesn’t produce it, do we really need it. Anyway, for now I’ll say if the body doesn’t produce it, and we need it to function, we must get this acid from an outside source. Omega’s are important because they raise serotonin levels (our brain happy chemical). Omega’s also increase the dopamine (a chemical produced when we become excited). levels.

    Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil is also referred to as medium chain triglycerides (MCT oils) and provide an immediate energy source, versus being stored as fat. Studies have indicated that the scent of coconut oil may also reduce the “fight or flight” response when we are stressed.

    Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate is one of my favorites. If you’re brave enough to nibble on a bit of dark chocolate (at least 70 percent cacao), you will notice an improvement in your mood. Dark chocolate is also great source of tryptophan. As we mentioned in the discussion about asparagus, tryptophan aids in the production of serotonin. You become more alert after snacking on this bit of heaven (my opinion), and it increases the circulation to the brain. Gifting you with alertness, improved reaction time and problem solving, and it improve short-term memory.

    Complex Carbohydrates

While we don’t want to get in the habit of over indulging on carbs, especially if your diet is restrictive in this area. They will provide feelings of well-being and may increase your mood during the cold winter months. For a more healthy way to consume these carbs, try slow digesting carbs like sweet potatoes, oats, brown rice, and whole grain pasta. Thees will offer the slow burning energy that will keep you going for hours.

    Quinoa

Quinoa is not only a complex carbohydrate but it’s also a complete protein. It will also help you maintain your blood sugar levels. Helping you to avoid those low energy dips throughout the day. You know, the ones that make you moody, and prone to low energy, or as they say “hangry”. Quinoa is also gluten-free which is nice if you have an allergy to gluten.

There are many ways to look at the food that provides energy to our bodies. The more we learn about each concept, the better informed we become, and the healthier our bodies will be. I hope you will take some time to research more about these options that can make a difference in our lives. Remember… Knowledge is power.

  • Feeling The Fear

November is in the rear-view mirror. Now we look ahead to December where we continue our challenge… on our own.

So, at the end of November, Brice challenged us to create our own challenge for December. I summarized what my challenge would be on November 28. But I conveniently left out something important. She challenged us to do something we were afraid to do. I hadn’t made up my mind what that something would be.

Many of you know I started a blog in 2019 as a means to work through finding out I had Hashimotos, and how I would deal with that news. And how I could help others who might be on a similar journey.

Over the last ten years I’ve grown a lot. I’ve learned even more. I went from being a semi-healthy woman with Hashimotos to a well informed more healthy woman who acquired some education while making many life changes along the way. I guess you could say I’m a new woman.

Part of my journey was discovering Ayurvedic medicine. Not only have I incorporated Ayurveda into my daily practice, but I became an Ayurvedic Practitioner. I’ve been trying to decide whether to keep my certification to myself and just use it for my benefit. Or to open myself up to offer services to others. In hopes to help others heal.

Well, I’ve decided to open up and set up an Ayurvedic Practice. I will be organizing my practice and posting information on this blog and my Rumble channel . I’ll be working locally to get my business name out there locally too.

I don’t know what this practice will look like in five years, but for today it looks like the first step on a new journey.

I am also going to track my progress through this awakening process. We are all on a journey to know our true selves. I have created a mission called Awakening and Ascension. For now I will be sharing my knowledge of what I see as an awakening. And working through what I see as ascending to a new reality. One that is filled with all the high vibrational experiences I create. Who knows, maybe it will turn into a way to assist others to see their soul path, or find what truly makes them happy.

I hope you all will continue to walk with me and support me as I take this new beginning and make it my future success. Not for myself (only), but to help in my small way to assist others to heal body, mind, and soul.

  • Death Is An Illusion

There was a time when you would be hung for believing anything not sanctioned by the Church.

Today however, people are becoming more aware of the state of energy and how it affects the human body. It has been said, we are what we eat. Of course, we can relate to that because food is physical. We can see it, smell it, and taste it. When we consume it, we digest it, and it becomes part of our body. At least temporarily.

If we eat junk food, our body gets sick. If we eat healthy food, we notice we feel more alert and have more energy. Of course, there are exceptions to that, but you understand what I mean.

In recent years, we are hearing more about neuroplasticity, brain waves, and neurotransmitters in the brain. We are learning that we can reprogram our mind, building or changing those neurotransmitters, to change our habits, and attitude. Now, we hear, you are what you think. We should explore that in another post.

The argument is that everything is energy. Our physical body is energy. It appears to be solid because we are living in a third dimensional space, causing us to vibrate at such a low frequency, that we become solid mass. As we learn to change our way of thinking, and we are able to heal old trauma, we will increase that vibration causing us to eventually transform to light beings. Of course, that will take many lifetimes.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration. ~ Nikola Tesla

In any case, the point I’m trying to make is, if we are made of energy, and energy can not be created or destroyed, then we have always existed, and we will never die. We will only change form. Making death an illusion.

This may seem like a wild concept, but if you think about it it makes sense. Maybe we should reconsider reincarnation. At least those who might discount it as possibility.

We’ve been robbed of many things throughout our lives. The elite have kept much information from us. A means to keep us under control. We are standing on a precipice now. The elite are about to meet their maker. We are about to be free.

I can’t wait to learn more about the human species and what we are truly capable of. One day, we may be like the Marvel characters, able to leap tall buildings, and bend metal, and fly. I know, It sounds much like sci-fi and hard to believe. We’ll see.

Keep digging. The information is out there.

  • Opening The Mind

Now that I’ve been through the eye-opening experience of how we are intentionally being poisoned, I’m moving on. I recently started working on my soul self, my inner being. That which is sacred. I started doing Qi Gong in January. I’m finding it to be a challenging way to grow spiritually. It has brought me to question many of the things I have been told throughout my life. Most of which I cast aside in 1999, when I began researching a book I intended to write.

What an eye opening experience. That’s a topic for another day. I began meditating when I started my Qi Gong practice. I didn’t just begin to meditate. I spent some time researching what it meant to meditate. Why should I meditate? What effect would it have? And in particular, what form of meditation would be best for me. I can’t tell you what would be best for you, I can only share what I have learned. There are many forms of meditation. You might enjoy a guided meditation. Or maybe you prefer to meditate to the sounds of nature, sound bowls, or music. You will have to research what’s out there to decide what works best for you.

Always do your research. You can check out an earlier post I wrote while I was exploring meditations. I found mediation to be a way to get closer to the real me. It wasn’t easy in the beginning, to focus and get to that place of quiet reflection. Some days I’d sit in silence and never get there. My mind would start reeling, and I’d get lost. The important thing is, I didn’t give up. I keep practicing. I think I will always be a novice when it comes to meditating. Some days I am able to sit peacefully, and listen. Other days, it’s a challenge.

I am still new at it so we’ll see how it goes.

  • Food Trauma

For years I have been working to heal my body from “food trauma”.

You may be wondering what food trauma is. Well, it’s the condition our bodies realize when we eat junk food over the course of time. For years, I ate poorly, never considering what it would do to my body. While I was young, the thought never crossed my mind. When I had children, my eating habits changed. I always tried to feed them good food, so I had to eat well too.

After my second marriage, I found that my eating habits changed again. Yes, I still cooked and made good meals. But there were times when the children would visit their dad and it would be fast food weekend. Stopping at the gas station and buying chips and coke. After a few years of that, the migraines got worse. Eventually I was diagnosed with Hashimotos.

And so my journey to enlightenment began.

I’ve been through the food detox. I’ve researched the ingredients hidden in many of the foods on the supermarket shelves. Only to realize, we are being poisoned. In addition to what we eat, I found that many of the health and beauty products we use are filled with toxins too. And it is those toxins that are causing all our health issues.

We’ve been conditioned to trust those that sell us the food and products that we consume. We believe that these companies (including our corporate government) have our best interest at heart. I think if you take the time to do your research, you will find that there is nothing further from the truth.

It is now time to be responsible for ourselves. It’s time to research everything we are told. From what we eat, to what we put on our bodies, to what we place in the air we breathe. I have learned through research that everything we are sold commercially has some form of toxin in it.

Right down to aspirin. If you look at the “other ingredients” listed on the label, you will find that they put antifreeze in aspirin. Look it up if you don’t believe me. That’s one example.

I’m no different than any of you. I failed to do my research, until my health was affected. Now I want to share what I learn so each of you know what I know. Obviously, you should still do your research. Trust no one when it comes to what you are exposed to. Be responsible for yourself, and teach your family to do the same.

We have to look out for each other, now. For the powers that be don’t, will not, and never intended to keep us safe.

  • I Pick Qi Gong…For Now

    Here we go, 2021!

Another new year is upon us, and with it will come more challenges. I don’t use this platform to discuss the views of the world, because I think we get enough of that in other areas. My goal here is to focus on our inner work.

You got it. Starting in 2021, I will be sharing my continued spiritual journey.

There are those who might scoff at this idea, but I believe we are coming into a time where we will all need to raise our vibration. We were reminded in October, that we are all energy. We are born into our bodies, energy that has always existed, yet has changed forms many times throughout our third dimensional reality. I know some of you don’t subscribe to this idea. That’s okay. But please be respectful of those who wish to read this, in your comments.

So, expanding on the idea that energy can’t be created or destroyed, we realize that we must have always existed in some form. Whether it be in this space/time/dimension, or some another field.

Taking the idea of energy a bit further. We know our thoughts are also energy. Let’s consider for a moment that energy, vibration, and frequency are the keys to the universe. If that statement is true, then we are ruled by these keys. Knowing that we are energy, it stands to reason that when we think we are emitting energy called thoughts. Those thoughts or energy is released into the universe as soon s we think them.

If we think the same though over and over, then we will attract that energy.

So this year I’m going to focus on thinking about what I want my life to be. Not what is was in the past. No more looking in the rear view mirror. From now on, we look ahead, while focusing on and living in the present.

One of the ways we can do this is by focusing on us. I don’t mean that in a selfish way. I mean it in the sense that we need to listen to our bodies. We need to remember who we are, who were meant to be, who we’ve always been. We have been living in a state of amnesia. In more than one way.

It’s time to wake up. In focusing on our self, we will reveal our true nature by healing our trauma. Whether it be trauma from childhood, or past lives. Or even our family lineage. By healing our wounds, we will awaken our soul self and remember true love.

So, this month I began this journey by choosing a modality of exercise. You can choose whatever resonates with you. Running, yoga, take a spin class, walking, biking. There are many options. I’m going to begin with Qi Gong. I find it easy to connect to myself, to listen and understand. I focus on the energy as I move and breathe. By focusing on each movement I am living in the now and “feeling” present.

In addition to that I’m going to spend more time focusing and using the Ayurvedic principals to balance body, mind, and soul. Ayurveda has opened my eyes to a completely different way of looking at how we eat, think, and pray. I will be incorporating more information related to Ayurveda in these posts, so as to share what I learn with you. We can never learn too much.

I will start with that, for now. We’ll see how I do.

  • Looking in The Rear View Mirror

We’re coming up on a new year. Many people watch as the years pass away, without considering any aspect of what lessons were presented in during that time.

With everything going on in the world right now, It makes me wonder. Why are we here?

Well, I’ve asked that question, many times throughout my life. Often times I’m stumped. I’m hard pressed to find the answer. We are born, we live, and we die. So, what happens to us during the long period of time while we are living?

The first thing that comes to mind, now, is slaving away for those who control everything. Outside of that, though, there must be time that we enjoy. If not we need to make a conscious effort to change that.

As I look forward to the new year, I will make more of an effort to “live” my life. I will focus more on the positive and less on the negative.

Many things have changed for me this year. My relationships, my health, and my ability to be happy, to name a few. All of these changes have presented me with challenges. But they have also allowed me the opportunity to grow, and to learn about myself, and also, who I want to be.

So, I hope you will join me as I move into the next year with joy and gratitude. In the mean time, I hope you all have a merry Christmas (or happy holidays however that looks for you).

  • Healing Energy

Living with Hashimoto’s has it’s challenges. While I learned early on what I needed to eliminate from my diet, I’ve had moments where I missed something.

But time is an excellent healer. I sense healing throughout my body. My weight has remained consistent, even though I’ve introduced most natural foods back into my diet. The nodules on my thyroid are gone. I have energy and can still focus.

I try to only eat food I prepare. Unfortunately sometimes my schedule isn’t conducive to meal preparation. On occasion I have purchased a box of crackers or other snack that indicates it’s soy free. Only to find out that in fine print the product was processed in a plant that process soy.

My body knows. The reaction is temporary. But it’s inconvenient.

In addition to the lessons I learned early on, about how to clean up my diet, I’ve also learned that sometime even good food isn’t good for me. This lesson learned through the practice of Ayurveda. Which teaches the balance of mind, body and spirit or soul. I’ve learned much about this practice, which I will be sharing with you as time passes.

Life is getting better. I don’t have to be so strict with whole foods, as I did early on. I feel healing. Some people may believe that once your body is damaged, it can’t be fixed. I believe the opposite.

I’ve introduced into my life the idea that we are all energy. I’m learning more about our matrix and how we’ve been tricked to believe everything we’ve been told about health. Those who have control over medicine, media and education are doing their best to brainwash us to believe we must do as they say to be healthy. When in reality their goal is to make us sick and more dependent on their drugs. Putting humanity into a tailspin where we crash in poverty. Draining our resources and leaving us with nothing.

After researching and studying the mechanics of the human body, our cellular make up, and the polarity we experience, I’ve come to realize that through science, the statement is accurate. We are all energy. And energy can neither be created or destroyed. It can only be transformed. Nikola Tesla knew this.

So, if the energy that is our thyroid can manifest Hashimoto’s, it can certainly transform that negative energy that manifests as Hashimoto’s, to a healthy thyroid. I believe that is why I’ve been able to live without medication. I believe my thyroid is healthy. So it is.

I’m going to post more on how our energy, which is influenced by the environment and our thoughts can manifest in our bodies to either create dis-ease or to heal it.

This life is a wild ride. it’s lessons have taught me much about myself, and the world we live in. I’m sure there are many more ways I will learn about not only myself, but of the world that has hidden so much from me.
